Jeroen Timmermans

After attaining his Gymnasium B diploma in 1996 Jeroen (1978) moved to Rotterdam to start his studies at the department of Economy at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Becoming dissatisfied rather soon he switched to the department of Philosophy in his second year. In addition to philosophy he did several minors in the humanities at the universities of Leiden, Utrecht and Torino. In 2003 he successfully defended his masters’ thesis on the concept of ‘play’ in the works of German philosophers Nietzsche, Kant and Schiller. In 2005 he became appointed as a junior researcher in the Playful Identities-project to investigate the Internet-dimension. His focus is on online environmental issues and the ‘greening’ of the Internet. Jeroen lives in Rotterdam.
